Church Automotive Testing

Liability &
Warranty

We are straight with our customers. Read this before you book a tune or purchase any service from Church Automotive Testing. By paying for any service, you agree to the terms below.

Our Warranty Policy
No Engine or Vehicle Warranty
Church Automotive Testing does not warranty engines, drivetrain components, or any vehicle parts as a result of tuning services. It simply isn't practical — we can do everything right on our end and a pre-existing weakness, bad tank of gas, worn spark plug, failing fuel pump, or any number of variables outside our control can still cause a mechanical failure. No tune warranty is expressed or implied.
Variables Outside Our Control
Tuning involves real-world variables we cannot account for — fuel quality, ethanol content variance, maintenance history, pre-existing wear, part tolerances on built motors, ambient conditions, and more. We tune to the data in front of us. We take every reasonable precaution to keep your car safe, but the inherent risk of performance modification is yours to accept.
What We Will Do
We're not heartless. If something goes wrong we will do everything we reasonably can to help — whether that's parts at cost, a discounted re-tune, or just pointing you in the right direction. We stand behind our work even if we can't warranty its outcome.
Tune Performance Warranty
What We Do Warranty
Church Automotive Testing warranties the performance of the tune itself for as long as you own the vehicle, provided no parts have changed since the tune was completed. If you experience tune-related issues — idle control problems, abnormal startup behavior, strange running conditions — and you haven't changed any hardware, we will address it at no charge. This is our work and we stand behind it.
What We Do Not Warranty
We do not warranty engines, transmissions, or any mechanical components. You are making more power than the manufacturer intended. The manufacturer doesn't warranty that — and neither do we. No engine or drivetrain warranty is expressed or implied. Tuning inherently carries risk and that risk is yours to accept when you book.
Parts Changes Void the Warranty
If you change any parts after your tune — turbo, injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, intake, exhaust, anything that affects how the engine runs — the tune warranty is void. A new tune or revision will be required. The tune was built around your specific setup at the time of the dyno session.
Non-Transferable
The tune warranty does not transfer if you sell the vehicle. It applies to the original customer only.
Existing Tune Cleanup
Church Automotive Testing can clean up or revise an existing tune from another tuner. However, we do not warranty any work done on a tune we did not originally create. If we clean up someone else's tune, that work is performed as-is with no performance guarantee.
Dyno Tune Waiver

Scheduling and paying for a dyno tune at Church Automotive Testing constitutes your agreement to the following release:

Taking Care of Your Car
Monitor Your Engine Health
The best thing you can do after a tune is monitor your car. Keep an eye on your wideband readings, oil pressure, coolant temps, and fuel trims. Take periodic logs and watch for knock activity or AF learnings outside of ±8%. Catch issues early and you'll avoid expensive repairs. A tune is not a set-it-and-forget-it modification — it's a living calibration that responds to how you maintain your car.
Use Quality Fuel
We tune to a specific fuel type. If your tune is built for 91 octane, run 91 octane — every time, from a reputable station. If you're on E85 or a flex setup, maintain your ethanol content within the range we tuned for. Fuel quality is one of the biggest factors in tune safety and longevity.
